Oil Pipeline from Alberta Tar Sands to Pacific Coast Passed a Panel Review

The pressure against building the XL Pipeline has led the companies involved in extracting oil from the Alberta Tar Sands to seek another pipeline be built to Pacific ports in British Columbia.  According to a story in today NY Times, the proposal has passed one hurdle.  There is still a lot of opposition by First Nations, landowners, and environmentalists to overcome before it will be approved.Pipeline1-articleLarge-v2
