It looks like the legislature’s decision to not allow the governor to have a vote on the Climate Legislative and Executive Workgroup (CLEW) means that the two Republicans will be able to stop any progress with the argument that the economics need to be studied first. The economics of climate disruption and devastation should be apparent as well as the need for immediate action to attempt to mitigate their severity. Short term profits aren’t going to outweigh the long term ecological, human health, and climate damage from failing to enact measures to reduce carbon emissions. Read the story in Cross-Cut.
