Here’s something that will likely interest many of you who helped in Procession for Our Future in the Solstice Parade and Flash Mob for the climate. –Lisa Marcus and Denise Henrikson
We hope you’ll come and participate in the Compassion Games! The first two opportunities are coming right up on Monday, Sept 2nd, and Wednesday, Sept 11th. (350 Seattle’s event Draw the Line with keynote speaker Bill McKibben is one of the participation opportunities.)
The Compassion Games were inspired by Seeds of Compassion, where the Dali Lama, Desmond Tutu, and other enlightened leaders came together several years ago in Seattle to share their wisdom. Since it’s inception last year, it has already spread to a dozen cities around the world.
This is a playful way for local organizations and individuals to find each other and come together in acts of kindness and service that bring connection within ourselves and our communities. We have the honor of helping lead on visuals for the opening ceremony of this 11 day event on Sept 11, National Day of Service. It will be beautiful, fun, family friendly, and free. See attached flier for details and send it to anyone you think might be interested! (If attachment does not come through, please e-mail me and I’ll send it directly.)
But who wants to wait until the 11th to get involved? This Monday, Sept 2nd, Labor Day, we’re having a family friendly public art play day to get the beautiful visuals ready. I hope you can come play with me! Information is below, and feel free to contact me with questions.
Hope to see you there!
