One woman’s path to civil disobedience: A scientist becomes an activist

Here’s a great article, an interview with scientist and author Sandra Steingraber. She talks about how she came to engage in civil disobedience [in her case, related to fracking]. That’s a path that more of us may follow in the coming months and years.

Having never taken a step toward civil disobedience before, I had to think hard about when it is appropriate. I don’t think you do it as a first resort, it has to be a last resort but on the other hand if you do it when the bulldozers are already there, then it’s kinda too late.
