Come to Full City Council Hearing May 29th at 2:00 pm

The full City Council will hear comments on the proposed resolution to oppose coal exports through Washington State and Seattle on Tuesday, May 29, 2012 at 2:00 PM in the Council Chambers on the second floor of Seattle City Hall, 600 Fourth Avenue, Seattle, WA.

Anyone can sign up to provide 2 minutes of comments, but having a good number of people in attendance will help the Council and the press appreciate the level of concern by citizens about mile and a half coal trains coming through Seattle and along the shoreline up to Bellingham on an hourly basis to supply such a port if built.

SEA member Mike Dash spoke at the Energy and Environment Committee hearing on May 22, as did representatives of the Sierra Club, Earth Justice, Climate Solutions, labor unions, SAS Marine, and BNSF.

SEA members have been helping at the Sierra Club by calling concerned individuals to let them know about the May 29th hearing.
